UX/UI.

The Importance of a great user experience

The quickest way to resonate with your target audience and prospects is through an outstanding user experience, starting with the user interface.

The user interface (UI) is the first part of the app your user sees and it can easily turn a user away if it isn’t eye-catching and functional.

The user interface of your website or mobile application is key to its overall look and feel. The UI design says everything about your brand, who you are, your strengths and weaknesses, and what your company is all about. This design has to be a specific to catch and keep your audience engaged.

Together with the user experience, the user interface walks your audience through the maze of your mobile application or web development.

At FAQ Interactive, we create the interface to support your goals and objectives, while engaging your target audience.

FAQ Interactive offers leading UI design. Based in Sydney, we’ve been creating designs for clients for over 10 years. We dig deep to provide real-life solutions that are intuitive and user-friendly and benefit the user and the community as a whole.

“88% of online users are less likely to return to a site after a bad experience.”

UI

UI is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle, and your users will keep on returning to this point when they click into your mobile application or your website. Knowledgeable UI companies know that linking UI with the user experience (UX) is crucial to achieving an engaging platform, as these elements work together to deliver a seamless experience for your audience.
The UI design must complement the UX design, creating a harmonious system that your audience will connect with and enjoy.

A less user-friendly design distracts your audience, making it difficult for users to achieve their aims when they use your site. It forces your audience to focus on the issues with your website or mobile app, and creates confusion and difficulty for the user.

By implementing a user-friendly, visually-appealing UI, you are putting the focus in the right place – right at the heart of your business.

Wireframing & Prototyping

Both wireframes and prototypes serve distinct and unique roles in the product design process.  While the main difference between the two often boils down to fidelity (how closely a mockup resembles the final product), there are other differences in design and functionality.

A wireframe is a low-fidelity mockup that serves 3 simple and exact purposes:

  • It presents the information that will be displayed on the page
  • It gives an outline of structure and layout of the page
  • It conveys the overall direction and description of the user interface
  • The key to a good wireframe is simplicity.

Wireframes are often low to medium fidelity, ranging from boxes and lines sketched on paper to onscreen creations that have a more polished look.

Interactivity is at a minimum, so users can test behavior without as much concern for a product’s look and feel.

A prototype is a barebones, relatively simple working model of an app or webpage. They are typically the next step in the product design process after wireframing. Prototypes typically have color, animations, and (hopefully) the actual content that will be on or in your product.

Tips

Transform your static designs into clickable prototypes.
Unlike wireframes, prototypes are often medium to high fidelity. They allow the user to test a digital product’s interface and interactions, and this level of functionality can be useful during the usability testing of an application.
Because they often resemble a more finished product, the time and effort invested in creating a prototype can translate to savings during the development phase.

The FAQ team invested a great deal of time and effort into understanding our requirements during the early development stage of the Pau te Hau app. Their detailed scrutinising of how the app would eventually function was actually very formative in our own thinking on what we wanted. This was fundamental to the subsequent production of a bespoke, complex final product requiring detailed technical function, but easy usability. We found the FAQ team very responsive and collegial to work with throughout the process. We’ll be continuing our involvement with FAQ for future app development.

Not too BIG, not too Small, Just Right. The old Goldilocks line sums up my view on FAQ Interactive team and the work they do. The site I managed out grew the services of our previous developer. FAQ started as the developer for Resourcing Parents website in 2013. I appreciated working with the same reliable developers whose expertise offerred up to date solutions that enable the website to grow and expand over the time I managed the project. Working with FAQ from 2013 until saw Resourcing Parents projects expanded to cover three unique websites and two Apps. I throughly enjoyed and appreciated the time we worked together.

I have worked with numerous App developers over the last 5 years and found FAQ to be the most professional and easiest to work with. The FAQ team adopted a flexible & responsive approach to our initial ideas and provided expert guidance in the development and refinement of our App. I am extremely satisfied with the final Burn2Learn app and have no hesitation in recommending FAQ to others.
